LCDs; A Great Breakthrough Technology

Published by chrisd at 2:00 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Although a significant breakthrough was made with the release of LCD monitors as a replacement for CRTs (see previous post), it seems that the trend for thinner more efficient display designs has not come to an end yet. This is said because the advent of OLEDs is breaking all previous records in terms of thinness, portability, and brightness of display.
In fact, most people are satisfied with their LCD display as compared to a CRT. This is because the amount of space it takes up on a desk is quite negligible and not to mention its energy efficiency leaves its bulky counterparts in the dust as well. LCD means Liquid Crystal Display, this technology was what brought us the ‘flat screen’.
