Not only are there plenty of internet cafes in Thailand, but there are always tons of people using them. They always seem to be full of students who have too much energy to take out and using violent video games as a way to take it out.

A few years ago this situation made it nearly impossible to concentrate while doing any work at an internet café. Not was the game volume cranked up to earsplitting decibel levels, but the boys would have to shout even louder in order to communicate with the members of their team. This is because usually its a gang of these teenagers that show up at the internet cafes and take up half the computers to play their games on a LAN.

Even little kids will come in, slap a few cents on the desk and play all its worth on Grand Theft auto 3, running around the city beating the shit out of people. I once watched a small child as he gang stomped a prostitute to death, and continued the stomping far after her expiration until there was nothing but a large pool of blood. He seemed to be enjoying all the while. That made an impression on me.
